The Rhapsody program recognizes my Evo, but there is no option to authorize the device. (see picture) The compatibility report is reposted:

This PC reports it is running 'Microsoft Windows 7 , 64-bit'

This device supports 'WMDM_MTP' communication protocol
MTP stands for Media Transfer Protocol.
This device should be compatible with Rhapsody Premier or Rhapsody Premier Plus subscriptions as it is currently configured.

This device is not authorized for the current user '[my name]'.
[my name]has a Rhapsody Premier or Rhapsody Premier Plus subscription
Rhapsody users with a Rhapsody Premier or Rhapsody Premier Plus subscription can transfer Rhapsody subscription content to their authorized devices.

You should be able to transfer purchased or imported tracks to this device.

  • Hi Duke, to authorise the evo 4g LTE device you don't have to connect the device to the pc, the rhapsody app can be installed from the play store and when you sign in the device gets authorised automatically and you can access the tracks.

I think that Rhapsody was the first app I added to my new phone. It does automatically authorize the phone as a Rhapsody device. However, it is not being recognized as an *MTP* device. I can transfer tracks that I own to it, but when I try to transfer subscription content, it won't allow that. I can play subscription tracks from within the app, but when I try to make a playlist on the PC that contains a mix of imported and subscribed content, I can't transfer it.

  • Hi Duke, Thanks for the reply.

Since you said that you are able to play the subscription content on the Rhapsody Application, it is already authorized on your account. If you want to make sure that, please log on to http://account.rhapsody.com and go to "Authorization" tab and check it under "My Authorized Devices".

Since your device is running in Android OS, we suggest you to use Rhapsody Application, as the side loading may or may not work on these devices.

Local playlist will not appear on Rhapsody Application, as it contains imported (your own) tracks which is only available on the computer. You can see the local playlists only on your computer and can be transferred to Mp3 players.

Universal playlist will appear on Rhapsody Application, as it contains only Rhapsody subscription tracks which is available on Rhapsody server.

You can access universal playlists wherever you sign in like Rhapsody.com, Rhapsody Software, Rhapsody Home audio devices, Rhapsody Apps, Rhapsody TV Apps..etc.
