Is rhapsody compatible with Mac?
I've got a Macbook Pro. Before I commit to the $10/mo, I need to know if I can use it on my laptop

The PC Client only works on Windows. You can use Rhapsody.com, but you won't be able to use the websites to transfer music to a supported MP3 player since the OS doesn't support the required DRM systems.
System requirements for Rhapsody 4:

I used to use rhapsody but then got a mac. I now tried spotify came out today and I like it kinda it doesn't allow me to download my songs for offline use and doesn't allow me to play them in other media players (Itunes, VLC).
I am really disappointed to see a big company like you can't make a mac app. Apple has release software porting software for Windows to Mac transitions. Also the web interface is not a solution aka: no offline play.
I also like being able to sync to my ipod and my other mp3 player when you couldn't support drm on the ipod.
I believe you can do better and you could solve the drm problem by when a user connects the ipod rhapsody checks if the music on the ipod still is in subscription and if its not does a quick wipe or hides the files.
Alot of your users will be moving to spotify so why not keep them by giving them mac and ipod support?

I am trying to authorize my droid device to my already existing rhapsody account..removed my ipod since it was stolen. The options on my phone are Charge Only, HTC Sync, Disk Drive, and Mobile Broadband Connect. None of these are the MTP? mode that I think I am looking for. It is not showing up on my computer(Mac) and there is no sources option. Frustrated! Please help. Thanks!

I have been a Rhapsody subscriber since 2003 and in that time I have stopped using Windows computers. I know have a Mac and lots of mobile devices. It frustrates me that I am allowed 3 Windows devices and 3 mobile devices. It seems antiquated to distinguish between the two and to penalize people who don't use windows.
I would like to be able to authorize any 6 devices on my account, or at least be able to authorize and use a Mac in the same way I could use a Windows computer.

Maybe call it Rhapsody Premier Plus +?.-
Until Apple decides to support the Windows DRM, you won't be able to use Rhapsody on OS X like you would on Windows. What you would have is essentially Rhapsody.com with a couple extra options, like caching for offline playback, but you won't be able to plug in an MP3 player and transfer subscription music to it because OS X doesn't support the Windows DRM that's required by compatible devices.

Why is there NO Mac support. I love Rhapsody but only use a PC at work. Can you please start supporting Mac and put an app in the app store. Spotify does have an app, just an FYI.

Come on, Rhapsody, still no Mac OS desktop client?
Really? I'm on the verge of switching to Spotify for their higher quality streaming, quicker/easier interface and better social interface...all things seem fixable for Rhapsody with a desktop client. Oh, but I'm on a Mac like most of the discerning technology users out there and you're stuck in 2008.

WHY NO MAC OS DESKTOP CLIENT??.-
You know, you could ask/complain about a feature without coming off like a jerk: "like most of the discerning technology users out there". Give me a break.
You just confirmed my stereotype of the self-absorbed Apple-loving hipster. -

lucas, Mac client: historically, this is because the Rhapsody Desktop client supported offline downloading in WMA format w/ DRM (only compatible w/ Windows) and because the same approach was used to transfer to the mp3 players. So, a Mac desktop client would have had less than half of the functionality.
Now, I read a blog a couple of weeks ago that indicated that Rhapsody was working on a new lighter desktop client which would also support Mac. The blog interview indicated sometime during the summer, but who knows. I don't know any details, but I suspect that unfortunately it won't support mp3 player transfers, it will be primarily a client for navigation/browsing the site and to download music for offline playing (in probably some proprietary format because they need to use DRM for this and the traditional WMA DRM is not supported on Macs). Anyway, those details are pure speculation on my part. -

http://ycharts.com/rankings/market_cap
Largest company in the world and you don't have a software version for it??
I've been a customer for over 5 years and generally like the service but it would be nice if it worked on my Mac and Linux machines. The online version is nice, but not nearly as full-featured as the custom app. Either add all the features to the online version or add support for Mac. You know if you write it in Java it will work on any computer, right?-
It's not just about a client on a Mac or Apple's recent market cap. You have to keep in mind that the client was used for mp3 transfers, which will not work on the Mac because the technology used by both the hardware players and the music services rely on Windows DRM. Java won't solve this problem. And if my guess is correct, the new light client is probably done on Adobe AIR.

Who cares about MP3 transfers. Some of us just want to listen to our music without a clunky web interface. Drag and Drop, etc. No more excuses, just do it!
