Yes this information should be easy to find on a new subscription plan section.
As of right now you don't have a plan tab. This is not honest and very misleading. I am a web expert and this is borderline criminal. Had I known their was an option to change to a $4.99 like I had back when I started with Musicmatch over 10 years ago....I would've changed it. Your android app is a joke and is useless if you are moving around...forget running or walking..Stationary only on my phone and I might as well use my desktop. Your Rhapsody exe program is a huge resource hog and needs to be more portable. I expect a lot more. Shame of Rhapsody for not informing the oldest, loyal customers of plans they were used to before we were forced into "upgrading" to pay for your useless android apps. Somebody from customer service better contact me about a refund or compensation to retain me as a customer.

Hi Jethal, with Rhapsody basic plan for $4.99/month, you can use Rhapsody.com, the Rhapsody PC client or a Home Audio device such as a Sonos, Squeezebox, Control4, etc... to stream the songs. However, you cannot download or use the mobile device or mobile application for accessing Rhapsody.

So a Windows 7 Mobile or iPhone with the Rhapsody App couldn't stream music?
What about an Android phone going through the web interface?-
Right, you need a Premier or Premier Plus subscription to use the mobile apps. You MIGHT be able to get rhapsody.com or beta.rhapsody.com working with the phone's browser as long as you have flash, but it's nothing we would support.

of course you wouldnt support any thing reasonable....Premire Plus? Thats the royal you know what you know where....

I had a subscription with you and it got cancelled, this morning I got an e mail saying that i can come back for as little as $4.99/month. How do I go about taking advantage of the 4.99 price, and is there a difference in the features that are offered with the 4.99 plan versus the 9.99 plan?

I'm in the same boat as Adam ... just discovered that the $4.99 plan was an option to me, which provides EXACTLY the same features as the annual $71.88 service that I've had for a number of years, since my Musicmatch subscription was converted to Rhapsody. I feel like I've been taken advantage of -- the only reason I discovered this plan was that I went in to CANCEL my subscription as there are many other options now that are less expensive. I've had a music subscription for years and suffered thru all the conversions and buy-outs (from Musicmatch to Yahoo and finally to Rhapsody), each time dealing with new music players and account conversions. Now to find out that Rhapsody would have let me continue to pay a HIGHER AMOUNT for the same features as the basic plan ... this really burns me. I had to find this myself and then do even more digging to find out what the features of the $4.99 service are - why no button to describe this service? It's still $60 a year - not an insignificant amount and still very usable to many people who don't' care about listening to music on a smartphone. And since it's clearly stated in the fine print that there are no refunds, I have a big fat credit sitting in my account now to burn thru -- and I guarantee that when it's used up, I'll certainly be cancelling this service for good. As Adam states, the desktop app really sucks and hasn't been upgraded in years. Get with the program, Rhapsody -- if you're going to continue to take my money, treat me with some respect and provide some service to a very longtime customer. Or at the very least, provide a music service that's worth the extra money.

I was a Napster customer. I was on their light user plan that allowed me to only pay for the songs I choose to download. I very seldom listen to music online therefore i feel those of us who were on that plan should not have to pay a Rhapsody monthly fee grrr. Got my one song I need for a project. Adios Rhapsody!

I received the same email when I clicked on the 4.99 option it says no longer available. I'd rejoin for 4.99 (same I had on Napster). bit mad that my Napster credit was burned through at 9.99 when there was a 4.99 option. If you could only find it.

I am so mad. Find out today about this $4.99 plan while I am visiting forums to inform other subscribers that they should check their bills....I have been overcharged by Rhapsody by paying 12.99 per month for the 9.99 plan. They apologized and said they would be happy to switch me over to the 9.99 plan today. They ignore how much I've overpaid for two years...but then offer me a 3 month credit when I point out the injustice. Now I realize I've been overcharged even more since I only needed their unadvertised, secret $4.99 service, which is all I ever needed. We need to get the word out! Anyone have recommendations for another music streaming service that is compatible with Sonos?

was customer when had verizon, feel same way had to look all over for information on 4.99 plan, really Rhapsody don't shoot self in foot like netflix did.
-
-
I too had napster and enjoyed everything i needed for $5 or -$15 every THREE months, which came with 15 credits to use each 3 mo. Now Rhapsody just takes my $10 every month without a single credit. Like burning cash for no reason. I go to cancel, I get offered "the simple plan" at $4.99/mo? What? Thats still less music than napster, and the link would not work. ERROR,ERROR....click billing info, ERROR,ERROR. My ass I say. I've about had it with music bs rhapsody style. It's lose/lose/lose. Recieve basicly AM/FM radio with a few modern day advances. Compatable devices? what the heck. I want tunes on a cd, without for the priveledge(sp?) to pay per track ontop of lame supscription. I'd like to from "customer service" to make things right. Like thats gonna happen. T.Petty-Hollywood

I just joined today. And I am extremely happy(not that y'all have had problems, of course!!) that I found these posts and now know what I am getting into. See YA! Rhapsody! I was teetering to begin with, this clinched it for me.
On their home screen there IS a "Subscriptions" option/link/whatever at the bottom left hand of the screen. It's really small, but every time I clicked on it~ nothing happened. Nada. I'm using an iPad so maybe it's me, but I don't really think so. There are also several others, the only one that works is Help!
When I downloaded the App for the iPhone/iPod/iPad (it took me FOREVER to find out if the iPad was compatible!) it said I would have a 30 day free trial. I came here I recieved a 14 day free trial, then $9.99 per month. After I signed up, I came in and there was an offer for 3 months for $5. WTF? Why wasn't I given that after my free trial? I kinda knew then I should look around, and this was the first topic on the list. Shady dealings goin' on.... I'm outta here. Bad business ethics.

I'm embarrassed to say that I let them charge me 4 years at $12.99 and haven't been using it AT ALL. I asked if they could give me a refund, obviously just expecting some sort of credit. The guy got on the phone and all he did was cancel and credit me back a week or two. Then I asked why am I paying $12.99 for something that costs $9.99. Is there any difference? He then read this crappy script that made no sense. He said it has unlimited music. Then I asked him if the $9.99 has unlimited music too. Yes it has unlimited music. I could not get him to tell a difference between the two plans. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He then put me through to someone else who seemed to be reading the same script. Got nowhere. I asked to speak to someone who isn't reading from a script and actually understands the different products they are selling. At this point, I was put on hold for a half hour and then got hung up on. Purposely deceptive. Hides in 'corporate policy.' Then makes sure you can't talk to anyone who knows anything or can do anything. It was pretty laughable the so-called manager they put on. I suspect was just the guy to his right.
I am a successful business owner too - pretty deplorable conduct...I suspect they are going down and need to hold on to any money they can. I hope google spiders this well!
You were warned! If they know what's good for them they should be reaching out to people like us and offer free credit...I wasted $625 with them!-
Rhapsody does nothing deceptive, so let's just leave it at that.
explain to us why Rhapsody is at fault when you did not use the service you signed up for for four years? Does your cell phone provider refund you for not using your cell phone? Nope.
When you signed up, Rhapsody had two plans, the 12.99 and the 14.99. Two years ago, they introduced the 9.99 plan. The fact that you haven't used their service and did not explore the 9.99 plan is not their fault nor deceptive.
Frankly they were generous enough to credit you a couple of weeks, they really had no reason to. -

i hear ya David. I've been there too! their customer service is MISERABLE and their practices are beyond DECEPTIVE. dump the service when your credit is used up. that's my plan. and as for the differences between plans - they can't explain it becauae there aren't any! I showed all this to my buddy who recommended me to rhapsody to begin with - he called and complained- same story-he just quit. It just amazes me that they won't try to make their customers happy. found out the Washington state attorney general investigated them for l their deceptive practices and they are paying a huge settlement. no surprise.

thats real networks you moron. it's not even the same company.
i had a rhapsody account before they changed prices and noticed on the website they lowered the price. since i pay for a year at a time i called to switch it over and not only did they get me on the new price but they gave me a month credit
its funny cuz even the terms say they can change the price at any time. funny what you can learn when you read what you say you agree to -

pal- im not fighting with you... let Rhapsody take care of their customers...unless you work for....ohhhhh nevermind.
real networks was Rhapsodys parent company when these deceptive practices were being used which were the basis for the class action suit.
and I guess it was all of our faults for not knowing that rhapsody lowered their price but didn't offer it to existing customers (I don't make it a habit to view their picing structures on their website) but once we figured it out, they could have made it right instead of all the game playing and deception. -

No, you don't have to spend 10 + 14.99 a month. I believe the superpass is for buying music. So, you can buy 10 bucks worth of music, which is usually what an album costs.
The 14.99 plan refers to Rhapsody's music subscription. This is different than buying music. With a subscription, you get to listen to anything you want to: new releases, full albums, old stuff. But you don't own any of it. If your subscription ends, you can't listen any more.
So, the buying and the subscription are separate. You can get a subscription for 10 or 15 bucks a month, in addition to the 5 buck plan this thread is about.
