rhapsody cannot play the current track
Using the Android app on an LG Enlighten I downloaded about 40 playlists for offline listening. The first day went swell, I shuffled 5 of these playlists in my queue with no issues. I tried to listen to "Summertime Clothes" by Animal Collective today and I got the message "Rhapsody cannot play the current track and is skipping to the next one". There are two other songs on this album that have this message...I erased the downloads and re-downloaded them and got the same message...What is going on here?

Hi grza.neal,
Did you download these tracks in high-bit rate? If so, can you try to redownload just those songs in low-bit rate and see if they will playback?
I'll try on my side also.
Can I get the name of the other songs that this is happening with?
Thanks!

I did download them in high-bit rate...I unchecked that option and re-downloaded...problem solved! This problem occurred with (so far) "Summertime Clothes" and "Bluish" by Animal Collective and "Late Nineties Bedroom Rock for the Missionaries" by Broken Social Scene. Do you think this problem is with the phone or the app? I'm not enough of an audiophile to care about high-bit rate downloads but I would like to know...Thanks!

It's actually an issue specific with those tracks...but the bug is definitely on on the Android client side, not the specific phone. We are working on getting it fixed. Not very many tracks are affected, but it's nice to have more examples to provide for the troubleshooting.
Thanks for trying it out!
Cindy-
I have many tracks affected

And a serious problem with repetitive repeat tracks appearing as if i downloaded them several times despite deleting them repeatedly. Now i cant play but one playlist and i recieve a "reached 800 queue limit." How is this possible since i only have at most 400 songs. And that's probably being generous.

Android Client Also, I get the same error message for the majority of my songs I have downloaded. Really frustrating since they all worked fine the first day I had them on the phone. Cant really blame the phone or client side since it did work just fine on day one and since then it has not.

Hoping this is not a temporary fix but I unauthorized my android and then reauthorized, redownloaded all music playlists to android, took a few hours but it is currently working. Keeping fingers crossed!

Does this still work??

Ok now i have downloaded all my playlists with the high-quality box unchecked, yet I still have this issue with certain tracks...So far I have found "Capture The Flag" by Broken Social Scene and "Our Plans" by Cloud Nothings...I have removed and redownloaded each with no success...any fix for non high quality downloaded tracks not playing?

Still having this issue with a number of regular quality downloaded tracks...any fix?
-

Any fix yet? I spent the time to redownload everything, but it didn't help at all...Even had 2 replacement phones (HTC Thunderbolt) (not related to the Rhapsody issue, although when I talked to Verizion, they suggested a new phone, I said no thanks. Verizon was less than helpful on the subject, for the record)

Would appreciate a fix fairly quick..I've been dealing with this for awhile, all while paying for a subscription. What good is paying for the subscription if I can't listen to the tracks I want to listen to???

Hi Joe,
This particular issue reported was an issue with a specific track, not all tracks.
Are you having problems with all tracks that you have downloaded? Or just specific ones.
We have not issued a fix for this issue as of yet, but it is in our work list. Again, this is for specific tracks. If you have an issue with all the tracks that you have downloaded, then something else is going on. -
-
It's a number of tracks, various artist, various albums. I can only pinpoint a couple, but I have ~500 songs, so it's hard to remember. Usually, it's the songs that I want to hear that are doing this.

I'm still trying to work on this issue...One of the songs I tried to reload on the desktop app on my computer. I tried to play it and it says "Rhapsody does not currently have a license for this content". It's just one song on an album of "licensed" songs. For the record, it's Reckless Kelly "Crazy Eddie's Last Hurrah" on the album "The Day" for this particular instance.

In my playlist of 800 songs there's only that I know of that this is happening to: "Holdin on to Black Metal" by My Morning Jacket. I removed the high-quality download and replaced it with regular and it works perfectly now. I don't know if this is happening to any of the other 799 songs--the only way I know is if I happen to be looking at my Galaxy S3 at the moment the song skips and the Error Message appears. Will be excited when you've identified a fix and made it part of the next update. Thanks!

I'm having this problem with "Angel" by Madonna as of yesterday/today on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I deleted the song from my phone, tried to stream it, and got the same message. I do not have the "high quality streaming" box checked. I also signed out and back in, tried the song again, and got the same message.
Don't tell me you have a fix on your "work list" unless it's actually in the works.-
The fix for the issue that the original poster has been released. Your issue is something different. In their case, low quality downloads and streams of these tracks were working, but high quality downloads were not. That issue has been fixed and released.
In your case, you are saying that this one track won't play at all. Stream or downloaded. This is likely do to an encoding issue on the server. I've verified that this track is working now, would you be able to try it again?
Or do you have another track that is not working correctly?
Let me know! Thanks!

i'm needing help switching my phone from the offline to online and i'm lost on how to do it i'm stuck on it. my phone is a LG Enlighten. help please?
-
Hi Joshua,
If you go to the Settings screen in our app, there should be a checkbox for going into and out of Offline mode. This is assuming that you have an data connection on your phone.
If you do not have a data connection, then Rhapsody will automatically be in offline mode. A good way to check is to see if you can do a google search. If you can, then your data connection is working and Rhapsody should be in online mode (assuming the offline mode checkbox is off).
To get into settings, just hit the menu button on the phone and and hit settings, or you can get to it by hitting the Settings button from the main menu.
Let me know if this helps!

I've got this issue as well. Asus Transformer TF300T 4.2.1 Problem is with ANY track I try to download. I had no issue when I was using my HTC Resound
I tried the proposed fix of using the low quality version but no dice.-
The low quality version fix was only for specific tracks that has this issue. If you are not able to download any track, then the problem is bigger than that.
We have a beta coming out soon for playback issues. You can participate in that by emailing android-beta@rhapsody.com. We have rewritten our playback engine so many of these playback issues should be fixed. I would love to have you in it so that I can be sure that your issue will be fixed by this. -
-
The problem isn't with playback in general but with playback of downloaded tracks for offline use. The TF300T is wifi only. So streaming isn't always a viable option.
I will shoot an email that way and see if the problem persists -

Nice to see we're all paying for "this problem is in our work list" and "I'm having the same problem too." Keep up the good work, Rhapsody.
