Rhapsody for iPhone 2.2.11

Hi all,

Version 2.2.11 of the Rhapsody App for iPhone is now live and available in the App Store.

This build will fix the docking issues that were reported with our 2.2.10 release. A big thank you to everyone that helped us by testing the fix.

    The problems I had with locking up on 2.2.10 are fixed for me now, but still experiencing small issue when connected to my car head unit. The Album art & song meta data are displayed, but when switching tracks, the song info doesn't change. The album art, artist & album info changes, but the song title stays from the first song.

    Radio is JVC KW-AV60BT using JVC ipod cable.

    Brendan. Installed the update and seems to be working fine for me. album art is there. song info is there and song info changes when switching to the next song. does this both on and off the apple dock. this happens when i am running in the app itself. also tried minimizing, locking the iphone and bringing up the controls at the home screen by double clicking the home button. works fine there as well.

    Hello I upgraded the app from 2.2.08 to 2.2.10 and till then the app not working and crash when I open it. I upgraded today to 2.2.11 and the problem still there.

    I have the 32 GB IOS 5.1.1 version of the iphone 4s i never had this problem when i had rhapsody version 2.2.8 but i did with version 2.2.10 and now with verison 2.2.11 after i download a album and click on the album to play the tracks disapears even when in my library i click on the album to download the tracks disapears all i wish for is for rhapsosy fix these problems befor releasing the updates

    I'm still having similar problems with the updated version. Now it plays a few songs (3 or 4) and then quits out in the middle of the next song. This is when I have it on radio station mode. So far, my downloaded tracks seem to be playing in full.

    I have the latest release and when using on my iPad it's continually "Restoring downloads" ever time I open or use Rhapsody.

    This is essentially a cycle that takes several minutes every time I use the app, freezing it until its done with the cycle. Once i start playing music it will continue playing If I flip to another app, but flip back to Rhapsody, and it freezes the app until it restores downloads all over again. Deleting/reinstalling does nothing, any ideas?

    Also, the iPad has been out since 2010, any chance of building an app for it?

    We are investigating this restore problem. Our belief is that there is a "bad" track which we are unable to restore properly which causes the problem repeatedly.

    An iPad app is in development. I cannot comment on dates or features.

      We have made changes to better buffer your downloads against the times iOS does a mass deleting (which is probably what you encountered here), and more improvements in that regard will be coming in future releases.

      So the problem should not happen again (in the same way, at least!), but that doesn't change that you have to restore those downloads today. (Future changes should also help with that, but again, that doesn't solve anything for you right now.)

    I have Rhapsody 2.2.11 and IOS 5.1.1 and I can't delete downloads. Everytime I delete, once I reopen, Rhapsody restores. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Very annoying!

    I have rhapsody 2.2.11 for iPhone 3Gs. I really need to make some space on my phone before going on vacation. I've tried deleting half the music out of Rhapsody. But every time I do, it just comes right back. It keeps "restoring downloads". I don't want them restored. I just want them to go away!

      Go to device Settings, find Rhapsody in the list of apps, toggle the Reset control, then return to Rhapsody and let the reset happen. This may solve the problem.

      If it does not, then you are going to have to do a full app reset from the app Settings. That will delete your downloads, so create a playlist and put all the tracks you will want downloaded later into it so that you can restore them more easily.

    Hi Jim D. I tried to reset the app through settings in my iPhone and through the in app settings and it's still giving me the "restoring downloads" problem. This is extremely frustrating as I constantly delete songs I'm not interested in listening to anymore. Please advise how to fix this issue.

      The problem here is caused by the internal database and the downloaded files being out of sync. We try to recover, but something prevents that.

      One identified possible cause has been streaming tracks in one audio level and downloading in another. Another possible cause has been downloading tracks you have recently streamed. These are things you can try to avoid.

      The next couple releases will feature some additional improvements to help with this.

    I'm also having the "restoring downloads" issue every time I open Rhapsody after deleting an album. It's driving me batty and I'm quite close to jumping over to the Spotify ship. This only started happening within the last few updates, but it needs to be fixed ASAP.

    Same issue for me as well. This build resolved the issue of tracks deleting themselves and now I can't delete them manually. Whac a Mole!

    I did what they suggested. I reset the whole app. It deleted everything. I loaded the music I wanted for vacation. No problem. Now I'm back from vacation and want to change up what music I have and put on some different music. Same problem back again. Clearly resetting the app does not permanently fix the problem. Yeah, hello spotify if this isn't fixed soon. Its rendering my phone useless by taking up all the space..

    I've done all the suggested "temporary fixes," I've followed two topic threads, and yet I'm still having to restore my downloads at least once or twice a day. Annoying much? YEAH.
    I looked into this about a month or two ago when this started happening, and when the new release came out I was hoping these bugs would be fixed... that obviously didn't happen. Rhapsody, when do you plan to release a new 'fix"?? I've been extremely patient up until now, but this has developed into frustration way beyond my initial irritation. The only reason I'm on here complaining now is because I'm not grooving to my music!!!

      We cannot provide release dates and feature sets before they are ready.

      (In part, this is because we submit to Apple and then they have an approval process during which they may reject the app. So we could be "done" on one day but then get a rejection 10 days later and have to make changes and re-submit. We don't know the actual release date.)

    This persists EVERY time I open the app. It only started after upgraded to 2.2.12. How do I downgrade to a stable version that works???

      This is caused by some downloads you deleted not being properly removed by the Rhapsody app, so when you relaunch, the app detects them and thinks they need to be added back into the local library. (That is, it's a bug.)

      This should be resolved in the next release. Until then, the only solution we can offer is to uninstall the app and download a new copy. This should wipe everything downloaded, including these problem items; you'll be starting over in terms of what you have downloaded. (Unfortunately, until the new release comes out, the same problem could occur again.)

    The same bug has been affecting me. I have both reset and uninstalled, but the same "Restoring Downloads" reoccurs for every album I download then delete. None of the possible causes listed in this thread (such as streaming songs before downloading, or different audio levels for downloads and streaming) and others apply to me. In case it's relevant: my account came from Napster.

    I understand that you're working on a fix. But since none of the guesses above about the possible cause describe my usage pattern at all, I get the impression that you have not identified the issue. I also get the impression that this is a minor bug only affecting a few users, so fixing it may not be a high priority. I know that piling on won't help you fix it any faster, but please understand that some of us being affected are on the verge of cancelling subscriptions over this bug.

    Hi Rhapsody team, all,

    I believe I found a workaround, and a way to recreate the issue:

    If I delete a downloaded album by deleting the Artist (Downloads > Artists > swipe Louis C K > click Delete), the deletion is NOT recorded and the download IS restored.

    If I delete a downloaded album by deleting the Album (either Downloads > Albums > swipe Hilarious > click Delete -- or -- Downloads > Artists > Louis CK > swipe Hilarious > click Delete), the deletion IS recorded and the download is NOT restored.

    I tested this with different combinations of the deletion methods mixed together in batches followed by killing and reopening the app, and in every case, downloads were restored only for albums I deleted by swiping on the artist and clicking delete.

    I'm having this same problem, just started when I updated my iphone 4 to iOS6. According to my phone, I have the most up to date version of Rhapsody. This is driving me crazy, makes the service more or less unusable, and I am paying for it!

      Just to be sure, check the Rhapsody app's Settings to be sure you are indeed on 2.2.14.

      If this started happening with the upgrade to iOS 6, then it is a separate issue, and that raises the question for me of whether it is indeed the "same" issue. Can you please post what you are experiencing so we can start to decipher things? Might be something completely different.
